Located 10 miles south off I-80 is a horseshoe shaped hot spring that's usually 72 degrees. It's a wildlife and bird refuge maintained by BLM. In the pond, there are bass and carp. The water is very clear and you literally see those guys swimming around.

There is a short boardwalk along one side of the pond as much of the area can be pretty muddy, at least in the winters.

The historical markers inform you that this was a stopping point for the Pony Express and pioneers on their way to California. Also, in the area is the Iosepa ghost town. That is an interesting story to google.

Watch out for cows on the road!
